This year’s MIFGS will again be staged within the world heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building and surrounding Carlton Gardens, from Wednesday 20th – Sunday 24th March.

It is an offence for an unregistered builder to carry out building work on a landscape project where the contract is over $5,000 in Australia.

If you are building a landscape construction over $5,000, the first question you should always ask your builder is: “Are you a Registered Building Practitioner, and can I have your licence number?”.

If you engage a Registered Building Practitioner or use subcontractors to undertake the work, by law they must provide you with a major domestic building contract for work over $5,000. For work over $12,000 they must also provide domestic building insurance – do not proceed if you have not been provided with a copy of the insurance certificate.
