Tucked away in a quiet street in Caulfield South, this clever landscape design will maximise the space whilst balancing the elegant, clean aesthetics.
The new white batten screens raised above the existing height of the boundary fence, offers an enviable addition of privacy with a contemporary edge. Down lights affixed to the timber screen bring the whole area to life from day to night, with Waterhousea hedges continuing past the screen to soften the vistas.
The soft blue-grey ceramic tiles on the raised pool walls steal the show and aim to impress, wrapping across from the top of the walls and into the sunken garden beds below. Strappy green flax grasses catch the light and offset the colour tones.
Another feature of the landscape are the sleek, smooth, in situ concrete steps used as the main entry to the pool area, their shadows accented by LED strip lighting underneath to ensure the ‘wow’ factor. A Blackbutt timber bench subtly turns into the third step, adding a pop of interest in material textures and an accessible place to watch the adjacent basketball action.
Ardenne tumbled limestone steppers lead through lush green ground covers to access the steps, and are continued into ample space around the pool, the perfect position for relaxation. An in situ concrete cantilevered bench offers a snug place to catch some vitamin D, read a book or kick back with a cold drink on a warm day. From there it’s a hop, skip and a jump into the pool with unimpeded views of the backyard, an integral element in the design.
After a refreshing swim, amble down the sophisticated in situ rear steps and rinse off under the coveted, copper outdoor shower with a smooth, in situ concrete base underfoot.
There’s nothing better than coming home and relaxing outdoors. This backyard has been transformed into a place of escape where you can unwind, enjoy some fresh air, and have lots of fun with friends and family.
